Regulation

To regulate something is to protect audiences from any sort of harmful content. Every film in the UK which is released in cinemas today must be regulated by the BBFC with an age-rating, but tfilms are not the only form of media that must be regulated as there are also video games, the press, and TV. Video games, press, film and Tv are regulated by people who aim to represent society and its rules with Race, age, gender and regional culture may have an impact on the ultimate decision for regulation so it cannot be regulated by one single person as there may be a bias. I personally believe that regulation is something we as a society needs as it protects certain people from viewing inappropriate content unintended for them. We are also at a time in society whereby media content is a lot more graphic and representative of real life and much less censored than it used to be, so regulation must be there to protect certain viewers from seeing that. For example, a child should not be exposed
